I recently ordered over $100 of Limelife makeup and to say the least Im very disappointed. The foundation is heavy and creases. It doesnt stay on like they said it did. The contour literally stays on for an hour. The mascara dried up in two weeks. I loved the mascara...

I wouldn’t call LimeLife ‘high end’ makeup. There is nothing special about it except for all of the wax meant to hold the makeup in place for bright lights, but who needs that outside of a an actor/actress setting?

No one. There are plenty of wonderful makeup options to choose from that are a lot less labor-intensive and don’t wax up your face.

Limelight By Alcone - Great skin care, terrible makeup.

So, first of all I am not a promoter, nor do I sell Limelife. I have tried a wide range of Limelife products. I will list each with my review. Keep in mind I am mid 30's with oily acne prone skin with enlarged pores & some fine lines & wrinkles. First lets start with makeup. Botanical Foundation: I absolutely hated the foundation. Its thick, cakey, & feeks tacky even after setting it with powder & spray. It did not look good on my skin & basically melted off within a couple of hours. I would not recommend. Perfect Eyeliner: if you like a really sharp eyeliner pen, you may like this eyeliner. I however felt the tip was too fine for my preference & didnt like this product. Would not Recommend. Mascara: This is a buildable fiber mascara. I didn't notice much flaking, but you really have to build for it to look decent. (I'm talking like 5 coats.) Not for me. Would Not Reccomend. Perfect lipstick: I purchased a sheer Lipstick. It feels amazing on my lips, but does have to be reapplied like chapstick. Doesn't last long but if you don't mind reapplying its great. A little pricey for the quality. I personally wouldn't repurchase. Lipgloss: I do love my limelife lipgloss. I have to reapply often but thats with any gloss. The color I purchased is amazing. It smells great and feels good on. Not too tacky. I would recommend. Matte Setting Spray: idk if this should be listed under makeup or skin care but I really like this setting spray. The smell is not pleasant AT ALL, but luckily it doesnt linger long and it really sets my makeup so well. Without it, my makeup partially melts off by mid day, with this setting spray my makeup lasts all day. Its so worth dealing with the terrible scent. Would recommend Now, lets get to the good stuff. Skincare. Dream Clean Face Cleanser: I LOVE this cleanser. It really removes my makeup well. I have purchased this product 3x & will continue to use this. Its an all around great cleanser. Love, Love, Love my Dream Clean. Would reccomend! Masque of Zen: I like this mask. It feels very refreshing on my skin. I use this 2-3x/week. It does help, but from my experience does not eliminate acne. It removes oil and leaves my skin feeling refreshed. I have hormonal acne so its hard to tackle. This may work better for eliminating acne on ppl that only get occassional breakouts. Would Reccomend! Skin Polish: I use this mask maybe once a week on a night im not using mask of Zen. It is hydrating & smells amazing. It exfoliates & leaves my skin feeling soft & smooth. I do like this mask & I would reccomend. Calm Balm Moisturizer: I love this moisturizer. I actually apply it before applying my foundation. It absorbs quickly into the skin. Doesnt leave my skin looking shiny or oily. This is the only mousturizer I have ever found that I can honestly say I Love. I have purchased this more than once & I would recommend. Basically I havent tried any limelife makeup I feel is worth the price other than the lip gloss & setting spray, but the skin care is amazing & I will continue to purchase it.

I watched a limelight guide on facebook for months before I purchased any. I looked at reviews and everyone said the foundation was awesome. So I bought the foundation, concealer, brush, and translucent powder. I was so excited to get it! Finally it came in and I tried it on. I hated it. It had good coverage but not like everyone said it would. It came off on EVERYTHING. Wouldn’t stay on my face. Not satisfied. I get the same result with my cheap foundation from Walmart.

Jennifer, you can but Limelife reformulated their foundation to be paraben free. So that formulation of the foundation is exclusive to Limelife, RCMA doesn’t carry it.

You can also get what they sell cheaper from RCMA directly. Limelight is a reseller. They don’t make their own stuff.

Limelight By Alcone - Allergic to foundation

I used this foundation was not happy with it because it came off on everything. I used a primer and finishing spray and it still came off. Then washed my face woke up the next morning with my lower eyelids all swollen and burning. My face was all a rash and itching! I don’t know how they can say it’s all natural when people are allergic to it.

The make up is not all natural and LimeLife has never claimed that. The skin care is “mostly” organic but the make up is professional grade cosmetics, not “all natural”. They’ve removed parabans from the foundation but that does not make it all natural

#1502883

You can be allergic to natural prouducts just as you can be to chemically produced products. you can return your biotonical foundation within 30 days of your order for a refund. No questions asked.-LL beauty guide

1.The makeup is not all natural, only the skincare. The makeup should not be advertised as all natural.

If you had a true allergic reaction you can send a picture to customer care and they will issue a refund.2. Anyone can be allergic to anything, even something natural.

Peanuts, pollen, milk. Just because it's all natural doesn't mean you can't have an allergic reaction.

Have you seen the product guide? The cosmetics contain less fillers and extraneous chemicals than any other direct sales cosmetics on the market.

Most of them are vegan, pthalate and SLS free, free from common allergens such as peanuts, tree nuts, gluten, corn, and soy. Additionally, they are releasing foundations and concealers that are also paraben free.

Have you seen Young Living’s Savvy Minerals line! NO fillers, NO synthetics.

NO toxins. BAM!

#1497315
@PissedConsumer1488637

Young Living has some great oils, but when it comes to makeup, the pigmentation and quality doesn't compare. That's the whole point.

Or should I say that's how Limelight by Alcone got it's name on the map. This wasn't two people trying to come up with a new product. The make up has been used for decades by make up artists for Actors and Celebrities or for Broadway Stage Performance.

All these gals did was find a way to make this high end make up affordable. And then include skin care.

@PissedConsumer1486814

Are you high? Read the makeup ingredients for Beauty Counter, Younique, Young Living’s Savvy Minerals, Sweet Minerals, even Rodan & Fields makeup is better than LimeLife’s.

You sound stupid making a comment like that. Did you know phenoxyethanol is rated as a moderate hazard? Not low, but moderate.

It’s a synthetic preservative found in your makeup. There are other ‘bad’ things in there too.

Limelight By Alcone - Great Product

I have never been a makeup guru, but I have spent so much money on skin care and foundations, and everything that I tried skin care mainly has caused more breakouts and skin irritations. But Limelight has been a good skin care line for me. every one is different and what is good for my skin may not be good for someones elses skin. The foundation has yet to break me out, and I really like the product, my beauty guide and my group of women that provide with information are an amazing group. customer service has never been rude to me, and I normally get my shipment within the 11 days, some orders took a little longer, depending on the time of the month. Im not here to put anyone down about using the product or not, just giving my opinion of what has worked for me.

Limelight offers a full 30 day money back guarantee. If you had issues with it breaking you out you could have returned it. Im not exactly sure how it could've possibly broke you out though as it has nothing in it to perhaps cause break outs.

Anonymous
#1450840
@Livia

That doesn't even make sense. It has nothing in it to cause a reaction on someones skin that you know nothing about? It must be only have water as an ingredient then, of course its easier to blame the customer saying they have used it incorrectly or that the issue is their fault.Have a wonderful day.

Yes. It is RMCA.

It's common knowledge to every Beauty Guide and/customer. It's not a secret, so not sure what's your point. It sells for a little more..... because you get MORE product..

plus soon Limelights foundation will be pareben free.. so that is the price point different.

Original review posted by user Jan 06, 2018

Made the mistake of just ordering the foundation without thorough research. When it arrived I tried it not looking at the ingredients. I removed it and started looking more at the packaging and was curious about what was in it. There is a paraben which I'm extremely against. I have been told by my fertility doctor to not use anything containing parabens due to the possibility of estrogen interruptions. Extremely upset that I spent $60 on a foundation and eyeliner that I can't use. Also the packaging is so cheaply made. It's cardboard, no mirror, and has a magnet to closure. Seriously!?

Did they refuse to accept a return?

Anonymous
#1449904

To be clear, the skincare line is the all natural, chemical free, leaping bunny ,etc..... The makeup is just pro makeup.

It is not ALL paraben free. Just most of it.There is a 30 day no question money back return policy. The foundation is only $36 dollars. You must have gotten the concealer, too.

It is wise to check the ingredients before you buy a product if you have an allergy of some kind. Since it is wax it sits on TOP of the skin and does not soak in, but I understand not wanting to use it.

This is not toxic, but it is also not for everyone. I wish you would have taken advantage of the return policy instead of being bitter and *** talking a good product just because it didn't work for you.I also don't understand why the eyeliner is unusable just because the foundation has a paraben in it.

Anonymous
#1448349

Unfortunately, there are people who rely on the WORD of others, instead of doing their research. So the product was not a good fit for you.

You should have done your homework since you are AGAINST certain chemicals. Instead you relied on someones opinion, even though they represented the company. People are people......some will tell you ANYTHING to get you to buy. You got someone who was either uneducated on the product they were selling, or they fell into the same situation you did.....they took the WORD of someone else without doing their homework.

I'm going to try the products because I have looked into them and if I do find they don't work or me, I'm not going to blame anyone; I'm going to send it back because there IS a Money Back Guarantee. Everyone is made up differently.

Some will love it and some won't. That's the way it is.

Why by other companies' makeups through Limelight when you can get them cheaper through said companies?? The point of an MLM is to be UNIQUE, and in that uniqueness don't most make their own products?? I've never heard of an MLM selling another company's wares.

@PissedConsumer1423078

Actually it’s pretty smart and much safer than buying cosmetics from a company that just decided one day to pump out bad formulas. The products are trusted by actual makeup artists and have been tested and used for a very long time.

That is why you will find the products to be superior quality. Some of these have only been available to professional makeup artists and are now available to everyone. The skincare is all their own. The makeup formulas are being changed to be paraben free right now Too and already some of the foundation shades are without parabens.

The eyeshadows are paraben free as well. Limelight’s skincare is harsh chemical free, leaping bunny certified (much better than simply “cruelty free” as there is an actual process and Set of guidelines to get the leaping bunny approval.) I am a makeup junky through and through and I would much rather be using products I know are formulated by actual beauty brands with knowledge of makeup quality and standards vs a company who wanted to create a direct sales model and saw a gap in the marketplace and went to a factory to have them start pumping out products for the Sake of filling that gap.That’s dangerous because the products become inconsistent and “hit or miss”.

Limelight was first and foremost a brick and mortar store in NYC for professional MUA only. There’s no “miss” with a company using formulations decades in the works of quality control and mastering their formulas.

Anonymous
#1421628

Nothing, NOTHING is chemical free. Limelight by Alcone skincare is " harsh" chemical free.

Meaning there are no added chemicals.

Water is a chemical solution. There is nothing that is completely chemical free. I've been using the products over a year. My skin couldn't be better.

And the paraben you speak of in the Foundation actually comes from a natural chemical found in aloe. Researching ingredients and getting your information on exactly where each one comes from does a lot of good when picking out new skincare or makeup products. If you don't like the products don't buy them . They don't deceive anyone.

It states clearly on the website on each individual product what they contain.

Limelight by Alcone doesn't teach the reps to lie either. So if a rep told you otherwise that's on her or him not the company.
